Scarecrow Sunday

The last Sunday in April has for the last few years meant one thing – Willoughby’s Scarecrow Festival.

Scarecrow Sundays in Willoughby have been increasingly popular with villagers and visitors alike over the years, with an array of eye-catching and imaginitive displays right around the village based on a variety of ideas.

In some cases, the ‘crows have been designed alongside local and national topics (one being the now-successful village campaign against plans for a crematorium on the outskirts of the village).

And whilst this year’s had a lot to live up to 2012’s Jubilee and Olympic themes, it didn’t disappoint as the images below show.
